Alexander Shonert is a representative of the Russian Violin School. His outstanding pedagogical abilities were already shown while he was still a student f the Musical Academy of Novosibirsk. Having studied for three years, he became an assistant to professor A.Gvozdev. As soon as he graduated the academy, he was invited to the position of pedagogue - method instructor, head of the division of strings in the musical college, and as instructor of violin classes in the Musical Academy’s gymnasium for especially talented children. Being an intern, after his student’s (I. Nurazian) successful performance at the international competition, Shonert got the position of instructor at the Novosibirsk Academy of Music by Zakhar Brone’s recommendation. Basing on Alexej Gvozdev’s (A. I. Iampolski’s school), A. Shonert developed his own teaching approach which was highly valued in Russia. Alexander’s students have successfully performed at the international violin competitions, solo performances and as soloists with an orchestra; they have successfully passed the entrance exams into orchestras in Russia, America, France and Italy.
Nowadays, A. Shonert lives and teaches in Prague, the Czech Republic.
